A DREAM TURNED NIGHTMARE

In Bihar woman was gang raped in ambulance during home guard recruitment test . She was an aspirant who wanted her dream to be achieved . A 26 year old women collapsed during a home guard recruitment physical test in Bodh Gaya in Bihar.she fainted during her physical test which was being conducted in Bihar Military police campus ( recruitment centre ) , where home guard aspirants were being tested for physical fitness on 24 july 2025.

HENIOUS CRIME INSIDE THE AMBULANCE

She was collapsed due to the physical demanding nature of the test ,heat and poor medical backup,she collapsed unconscious .An ambulance was stationed at the site and was supposed to transport her to a nearby hospital for treatment . Instead of prioritising medical care she was allegedly sexually assaulted inside the moving ambulance . While woman was semi unconscious ,she alleged that two men- driver (vinay kumar) and technician ( Ajit kumar) of the ambulance raped her . She screamed for mercy she claimed that she became aware during the assault but could not resist due to her weakened state.After reaching the hospital and regaining consciousness, the woman narrated her ordeal .A first information report ( FIR) was filed immediately at the BODH GAYA police station under section 376D of IPC( gang rape ) and relevant sections of the SC/ ST ACT if applicable .

MASSIVE OUUTRAGE AGAINST THE GLARING PROCEDURAL FAILURE : no female attendant was present in the ambulance ,raising urgent issues and concerns about female safety protocols . DEEPNING SCRUTINY OF LAW AND ORDER IN BIHAR : the case sparked harsh criticism of the state’s governance, particularly chief minister Nitish Kumar’s Administration Being accused in failing women and public safety in political opponents . However, this political debate would never come to an end, but this incident raised deeper issues such as 1 Institutional vulnerability of women despite being a public regulating setting she become a victim due to oversight . 2 Misuse of emergency services : ambulance are meant for life saving transport, but when such services are misused for heinous crimes, it creates mistrust among the public, especially women. 3 No monitoring protocols: no CCTV or GPS based monitoring was in place inside the ambulance, lack of medical supervision. Example female nurses of these escort enable the crime. 4 Lack of safety provisions at public exam: Physical fitness test under open cell, no advocate, first aid teams or emergency doctors, candidates often suffer injuries, but the system lack accountability and safety units which shows the vulnerability of conducting the physical test.

NOT THE FIRST TIME

It is heart wrenching to know that this heinous activity did take place in the previous years In 2023 Bihar minor case in Muzaffarpur nine year old. The Little girl made to wait in ambulance for hours, but at the end, she cried for Mercy ,but no one gave her and she died. IN 2018, Odisha ambulance RAPE case women gang raped by ambulance staff while being taken to hospital. It is really a deplorable situation for women that this heinous crime didn’t take place for the for the first time. This incident is a shocking reminder for the deep flaws in our public safety making women frightening and creating a terrible environment for women . 

She wanted to learn and have her own throne but her dreams got burn and her beautiful soul was gone she cried ,asked for mercy but at the end she was betrayed by humanity and buried in agony, she cried ,asked for help but at the end she found herself alone ,her hopes turned into ashes as she screamed in pain…
