A nineteen year old girl, Manisha, teacher in playschool from Singhani village in Bhiwani district of Haryana left her school on 11th of August to enquire about the admission in nursing college. As she didn’t return home by evening and not answered the call, her father filed a missing complaint in nearby police station. The police at first allegedly dismissed her plea by suggesting that she must have run away and would return soon which was criticised by her parents.
A BODY FOUND
On August 13, a dead body with throat slit was found near a canal in Singhani village which was later identified as Manisha by the police. Following this, her body was sent for the autopsy but her family refused to accept the body demanding to arrest the criminals behind this heinous crime first. Manisha’s family also alleged that police had delayed registering the complaint.
POLICE’s CLAIM
Police initially said that the investigation of the case pointed to the suicide. Manisha died after consuming poison. The presence of insecticide has been confirmed in the body. Police also said that a bag was found near the body that contained a suicide note.
FAMILY DEMAND JUSTICE
The family of Manisha rejected the claim of police. Her father said that his daughter can never commit a suicide. I want justice. He refused to cremate the body, demanding a impartial investigation.
