Guru Randhawas Azul raises concerns over sexualization of minors

A music video named ‘Azul’ released on August 6 by Guru Randhawa portrays as a photographer in all girl school has sparked a controversy. The video and its lyrics has drawn criticism for allegedly sexualizing schoolgirls and portraying a problematic fantasy. 

What’s in the video? 

In the video, Guru Randhawa plays a photographer who takes photos of adult women dressed as schoolgirls which is allegedly done for fetishizing and sexualizing minors. The lyrics further fuelled the controversy by drawing comparisons between schoolgirls and alcohol brands like tequila and Hennessy. This objectification of schoolgirls is also problematic in itself.

The music video has received intense criticism from audience on the social media. Many netizens expressed their concerns and condemned the song for sexualizing schoolgirls and attempt for normalising the inappropriate fetish amongst the audiences.
